FAQ about the security control
The technology used at the new security control in Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport differs from other security controls at Arlanda and Swedavia’s other airports. This technology allows passengers to leave liquids and electronic devices in their bag when they pass through the security control. As of 1 September 2024, the maximum size for containers of liquid is 100 ml at the new security control. You can have an unlimited number of 100 ml containers and they do not need to be placed in a one-litre bag. Containers of liquid and electronic devices are left in hand baggage. At other security controls, liquids and electronic devices still need to be removed.
Your hand baggage will have to go through security screening twice, which increases the waiting time both for you and other passengers. In that case, the security screener must detect in an X-ray image that you have electronics in your bag. They must find you and ask you to remove the electronics in order for it to go through the X-ray machine again.
You will need to remove your liquid medication from your hand baggage and present it at the security checkpoint, but it does not have to be put in the same 1 litre bag as the other liquids.
