Swedavia’s traffic statistics for April 2025
In April, approximately 2.6 million travelers flew via Swedavia's ten airports, which is slightly higher compared to last year. International travel continued to grow, while domestic travel declined. In this year's summer traffic programme, several airlines are continuing to invest in new traffic, and around 20 new routes will be added ahead of the summer. Ryanair is adding another aircraft at Arlanda and one at Landvetter, while Norwegian is reopening its pilot base at Arlanda.

Swedavia’s operating profit continued to improve during the first quarter of the year. At the same time, investments in a larger commercial offering in Arlanda’s Marketplace contributed to increased net revenue and strengthened cash flow. The number of international passengers continued to increase, but with a slower rate of recovery due to several external factors. At the same time, the challenging trend in domestic travel has continued.

During March, approximately 2.5 million travelers passed through Swedavia’s ten airports. This number marks a slight decrease compared to last year. To some extent, this slight decline is due to external factors, such as strikes and the temporary closure of Heathrow. International travel continues to show stability, while the downward trend in domestic travel continues. In April, investments in new destinations will also continue from Stockholm Arlanda Airport in connection with the summer traffic programme.

As of 19 March, Swedavia's Annual and Sustainability Report for 2024 will be available on the company's website. The past year was characterized by increased international travel, investments in several new routes by the airlines at Arlanda and stronger operating profit in parallel with continued investments in the transition to fossil-free aviation. In 2024, passenger volume increased more than one per cent compared to 2023. This increase was driven by continued strong, growing demand for international travel.
